A new design system
The imu website was previously implemented in a solid Wordpress system that worked well for a long time. But at some point, every system gets old and no longer meets the modern requirements of the web and the company.
A complete relaunch was identified as the solution. The first step was to develop a completely new screen design for the website together with 22quadrat. With over a decade of experience, the Osnabrück-based studio knows how to identify the essence of a company and give it a story and a face - in this case, a new website design. Far away from pre-installed themes and templates, a new design system was developed for imu with maximum flexibility.
Grid transformation
22quadrat comes from a world with fixed drawing surfaces - keyword: print.grid, fixed size, clear units. All this creates clarity and structure in the structure and placement of content. But on the web, everything has to be relative and not absolute.
So how do you cast these fixed structures into a flexible and agile system? Quite simply - the CMS used must allow as much flexibility as the website design demands of the system. Basically, the CMS must set almost no limits in this respect and it must be possible to reflect this freedom in the underlying templates.
In this case, the Kirby CMS content management system once again proved its worth. Due to its high user-friendliness, flexibility and scalability, this CMS was the right choice.
This made it possible to develop a grid system that combines many features at the same time:
Dynamic adaptation to the current size of the viewport
Adaptation of the ratios of font sizes, spacing and other units to each other from the existing screen design
The grid system allows the user to flexibly set the content and various global components themselves
This means that each subpage can be set up individually and, in theory, no two are the same - but at the same time each of these pages follows the rules of the grid and the design created
A new basis
With the help of this new and flexible system, imu is now able to build its own content pages and marketing funnels without the help of a developer, while remaining extremely flexible in terms of setting.

The result
The result is a website that perfectly captures the essence of what imu does: clarity, visibility, structure, open spaces, precision and flexibility.
